What sets motion going? Do you create your parents, or do your parents create you?
It seems obvious: we are born into a world created before us. Into an already existing reality, to already existing parents, rules, cultures, histories. We are told that we are a result. A consequence. But if we shift the perspective, if we look out from Primordium — from the point before time and space — a wholly different understanding arises.
What if it was not you who appeared in a ready-made world, but the world that began to exist at the moment of your appearance within it?
It is precisely your consciousness that is the first impulse which activated the scenario of this reality. Parents, circumstances, history are not events that linearly precede you, but energetic structures, manifested in response to your inner choice, your intent to walk a particular path. You were not merely «born», you manifested into form and by this act set motion going.
Just as the First Thought in Primordium separated the inner from the outer, so you, coming into experience, separate the potential from the manifest. You choose: into which family to be born, which archetypes to unfold through those close to you, which lessons to live through the framework of outer circumstances. Your consciousness is a primary source, not the result of biology.
In the Sufi tradition, reflected in the teaching of Ibn Arabi, a human being is perceived not as a consequence of creation, but as its center — the Khalifa of Allah, the vicegerent of God on Earth. He is not merely created to live in an already manifested world, but is a mirror through which God knows Himself. «I was a hidden treasure and longed to be known», says a hadith qudsi. This phrase describes the same principle: human consciousness becomes the eye through which the Absolute looks upon Itself in the reflection of the world. Thus a human being is not the offspring of circumstances, but the cause of their manifestation.
In this model, motion begins not with the parents, but with your inner impulse to enter the path. Therefore your reality is set going from within. You do not join a scenario, you yourself activate the first frame, set the rhythm of events, build the map of evolution. Everything that happens is a response. Reality begins its motion at the moment of your consent to take part in it.
Modern research in quantum biology confirms: the act of observation is able to change the state of a system even at the level of the living. In experiments on quantum tunneling of protons in DNA, scientists from the University of Oxford showed that molecular processes depend on the conditions of perception — on exactly how they are measured. In particular, protons in a DNA molecule can «jump» between states, and the probability of such a transition changes depending on the environment and the manner of fixing the process. This means that even in biology the observer is not an external factor, but a part of the system, influencing the outcome. So too a human being: their attention, intention, and state of consciousness exert a direct influence on the «matter» of their own life, transforming the field of probabilities into the reality of choice.
Time here is not linear. Parents appear not before, but together with you, as part of the first projection of your game. Their character, even their fates, are mirrors of your potential tasks. And if you create reality, then you create them too. Yet this does not diminish, but exalts. Because you are not merely their reflection — you are their architect, and they are your teachers, partners, contrasts, and inspirers.
Motion begins where a conscious choice to take part arises. Not a victim, not an observer. A creator. When you decide «I am», everything else begins. Potentials begin to condense, scenarios assemble, people are drawn near. Thus the world begins to move — out of your point of intention.
And when you become aware of this, you understand: «I create not only what lies ahead. I shape also what “was”, because at the point of Primordium there is no past and no future. There is only me — as impulse, as attention, as creating vibration.»
You are the First Act. You set going not only a step forward. You set the whole Universe going from within.
How does a thought become the first act of creation?
The point of creation does not appear suddenly, it is not blown in by a random wind. It is born out of silence, in which motion begins. And it is precisely thought — the first vibration of this silence — that becomes the very fire which lights the way from the unmanifest to the manifest.
We have already realized: everything begins with presence. But for motion to occur, an impulse is needed. And this impulse is a flash within, and its name is thought. But what is thought at the deepest level? Thought is the fire between worlds. It is not merely born of the mind, it issues from the very essence of Primordium, as the first act of self-awareness:
«I am», «I feel», «I direct».
The metaphor of fire here is no accident. Fire is not merely an element. It is the threshold between the invisible and the visible, between that which is only being conceived and that which is already manifesting. Fire has no form, yet it forms. It does not build, yet everything happens through it. It is the means of transition, and thought is exactly the same.
In Hindu philosophy it is precisely the thought of God (Sankalpa) that becomes the moment of the world's creation. In the Shvetashvatara Upanishad it is said: «He intended, and the world arose.» Not a word, not an action, but precisely an intention. An inner act of awareness gave birth to the Universe. This principle recurs in other teachings as well: for instance, in Buddhism the thought of the Buddha, filled with compassion, becomes the energy out of which all that exists arises. Thus thought appears not as a mental process, but as a Divine breath, a creating vibration of consciousness.
At the start of work on my theory everything was ready: the literature gathered, the mathematical apparatus chosen, the structure of the article outlined, yet the text would not move. The turning point came at the moment when I formulated for myself one phrase as a conviction I was ready to defend: «reality is a function of observation.» After that each step followed from the previous one — formulas, examples, conclusions.
In fire matter burns and energy is born; in thought emptiness burns and a path is born. This is alchemy at the subtle level: out of nothing a direction appears. The fire that feeds the stars is the same fire that feeds your inner intention. Within you, as in the core of the Sun, the hydrogen of consciousness combines with the warmth of attention, and a light is born, able to warm reality. This is the nature of creation.
Modern astrophysics confirms this principle through the phenomenon of stellar fusion. In the depths of the Sun and other stars, thermonuclear reactions turn hydrogen into helium, releasing a colossal amount of energy. From this radiation, light, heat, and ultimately all the elements of which the material world is built are formed. What was once a simple particle becomes substance, a planet, life. Thought works in a manner like this stellar process: the inner concentration of consciousness gives birth to an energy able to transform outer reality.
When you choose a thought, you ignite a beginning. It is precisely thought that determines which, out of the infinite number of possibilities, will begin to take form. Any great change, outer or inner, begins with a barely noticeable motion within: with a thought that you allowed to appear and did not let vanish. Not impulsive, not cast to the wind, but conscious and warmed by your attention.
The founder of SpaceX, Elon Musk, did not begin with rockets and factories. It all began with a thought he held despite the skepticism: «Humanity must become interplanetary.» This thought became an inner fire, around which resources, teams, and technologies later gathered. A thought held by attention set going a reality that had not existed before.
Here is where the magic happens:
- a thought arises,
- you choose to stay with it,
- and it becomes the fire through which your next reality is formed.
The power of zero: the passage from stillness to action
Thought is conceived as fire, but before the flame flares up, there is silence: a wordless point in which nothing has yet begun, yet it is in this very point that everything ripens. The fire of creation does not flare without cause. It flares when an inner readiness becomes a willingness. And this passage from inner stilling to the first motion is not loud, it is subtle, almost imperceptible, yet it is precisely in it that all the power lies.
We are used to thinking that action is the manifest. The result. The outer. But in fact action begins within, long before anything has happened outwardly. True action begins in zero.
Zero is not an absence, not «emptiness», but a gatheredness. It is the silence before the first word, the inhale before the sound, the instant before the step. It is the state when you have not yet chosen, yet already know. When you are not acting, yet are already directed. It is precisely out of this zero, out of this deep pause, that a true infinity arises, not as a chaotic multitude, but as a precise, inwardly coherent motion set going from the center.
Once, a partner proposed to scale a project by investing in advertising. The logic was clear: more investment — more reach, yet within there was no agreement — the numbers looked right, while the feeling said: too early. I asked for a week to reflect, and over that week it became obvious: what needed scaling was not the advertising, but the quality of the product itself. This decision turned out to be more precise than all the previous attempts.
In Sufi mysticism this moment is called sakina — the inner peace that precedes inspiration and action. In the Quran it is said: «He sent down tranquility (sakina) into their hearts, to strengthen their faith» (Surah 48:4). This is not an outer immobility, but a presence filled with meaning. It is precisely in sakina, when the mind falls silent and the heart opens, that the first motion is born — an impulse that comes not from the mind, but from the depth. The Sufis themselves say: «When everything within fell still, God began to speak.» This «voice of silence» is the point of passage from stillness to action, when action becomes a continuation of stillness rather than a flight from it.
In physics the analogue of such a passage is the quantum jump: the moment when a particle instantly changes its state, passing through no intermediate stages. Before the jump it seems to dwell in superposition — in the «silence of probabilities», and only under certain conditions, when the field reaches a point of readiness, does the transition occur. These are the very «quantum fluctuations» of which scientists speak; out of them energy is born. In cosmology it is precisely such microscopic fluctuations of the quantum vacuum that are considered the seeds out of which stars and galaxies arose. So too within us: zero is not emptiness. It is the state out of which the birth of motion, light, form — everything we call the world — takes place.
Picture a wave moving across the surface of water. Before it, a smooth expanse. But smoothness does not mean immobility, it is a readiness for the impulse. And out of this readiness the first ripple arises. So too within you: out of silence the first intention arises, out of it — action, out of action — a new reality.
Zero and infinity are not opposites, but a single structure. Zero is potential gathered in a point. Infinity is the unfolding of this potential in time, in space, in experience.
In startups there often comes a moment when, outwardly, the team «does nothing» for a long while: discussing, doubting, testing hypotheses. Experienced founders know: this is not procrastination, but a phase of crystallization. As soon as inner clarity reaches the zero of readiness, action is set going swiftly and precisely, without superfluous steps.
Every new action, every decision, every step begins precisely at the moment when you meet the zero within yourself and do not fear it. It is a state of full gatheredness, in which everything is already present:
- silence,
- direction,
- readiness,
- freedom.
And it is precisely from here that true motion comes. Not from haste, not from reaction, but from the depth. Zero is that place within you where there is nothing superfluous and therefore a place appears for the real. Zero is the moment in which stillness becomes an impulse. Thus thought, ignited as fire, meets silence and only after this moves into form. Thus consciousness meets emptiness, and only after this the world is born. And you know this moment. You have lived it each time you stopped running and suddenly began to walk. Each time you fell silent and finally heard. Each time you lowered your defense and felt the power.
This is that very instant where everything changes. The moment of passage from stillness to action. From absence — to manifestation. From silence — to creation.
And what if it is all the other way around: if we truly are only the result of genes, family, culture, circumstances, and no inner «first push» exists at all? If thought, choice, and the pause before action are merely a consequence of already-launched processes, and not their source? Such a view is familiar, because it lifts responsibility: it is easier to consider oneself a continuation of the past than a point of beginning. But it does not explain one thing: why a change of inner agreement is able to unfold events differently, even without outer effort. Experience shows: the most precise movements begin not when everything is calculated, but when a clear «yes» appears within. Thought, impulse, the pause before action — these are not a side effect of circumstances, but the moment in which you either continue the inertia or set going something new. And if everything were already decided, this moment of choice simply would not exist.
Key takeaways
- 1
Consciousness comes first. The world is set going from within — your gaze activates the scenario of reality.
- 2
You choose your parents. They reflect your intent and lessons, rather than creating you.
- 3
Motion is born in silence. True action begins from the inner zero and gatheredness.
- 4
Thought is the first fire of creation. Pure intention turns potential into form and sets events going.
- 5
Attention forms reality. A conscious focus condenses probabilities and makes the choice visible.
- 6
You are the First Act. Every «I am» of yours begins the motion of the Universe from within.
What will shift in your perception once you realize this stroke?
- 1
You will stop looking at your life as a chain of predetermined consequences. Instead of the question «why did this happen to me?», another will arise: «from which point am I continuing this right now?»
- 2
Your relationship to thought will change. It will stop being a background or noise and will begin to be perceived as the first act of action — that which either ignites motion or leaves everything in place.
- 3
An attention to the pause before action will appear. You will begin to notice the moment of zero — that silence in which the decision is not yet made, yet is already possible — and will stop rushing to leave it.
- 4
The sense that the world «pushes» you from outside will diminish. An experience of the inner impulse as a point of departure will appear: it is not circumstances that set motion going, but your consent to take part in it consciously.
This practice will show how a thought becomes an action, and silence becomes the beginning of the path.

Questions and answers
- What sets the motion of reality going?
- Motion begins with an inner impulse to enter the path. Human consciousness acts as the first push that activates the scenario of events, and circumstances assemble as a response to that choice.
- How does a thought become the first act of creation?
- Thought here is pure intention, the first vibration of silence. Held by attention, it works as a fire of passage: it determines which of the possibilities will begin to take form.
- What is the power of zero?
- Zero is the gatheredness and silence before the first motion. Out of this state of full readiness, action is set going precisely and without haste, like a wave born from a calm expanse.
